Inscribed "TO GENERAL WEDEMEYER from a friend, Brian E [Emory] Dietz." One would have thought Wedemeyer already had the 1959 ediiton of this book, but on second thought probably not: his entries in the index occupy two full columns; he was Mountbatten's aide in Burma before he headed the Allied forces in China. Not much news for him here.
